Computerized surfboard measures all of your fancy moves

Competitive surfing is one of those sports where a group of judges rate your performance based on what they see. The problem is that judges can miss things, or might even be biased against you. This high-tech surfboard aims to put a little objectivity back into surfing, by making accurate measurements of your gnarly moves.

The Tecnalia Surfsens board comes fully loaded with a gyroscope, accelerometer, GPS, strain gauges, and pressure sensors that measure everything from your speed, to how high up the wave you're riding. One you're back on terra firma, the data can be downloaded to a PC for analysis.
Built by the Spanish company Pukas in tandem with their technology partner Tecnalia, the Surfsens is currently being tested by professional surfers. LINK
