Logitech Brings Solar-Powered Keyboard to Macs, Cheaper Than Apple

Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 for MacApple Mac users are getting some support—peripheral support that is—from Logitech. Last year the company unveiled the Wireless Solar Keyboard K705, and it's replacing the Windows Starter button with a Command key, among other things.
"We hear from consumers all the time that they want to see more Mac products from us," said Rory Dooley, Logitech senior vice president and general manager of the Control Devices business unit. "I'm proud to say we've listened, and are excited to offer one of our most innovativekeyboards designed specifically for Mac users."
Not too much has changed in the way of solar-powered hardware; its integrated solar panels still sit on the top of the keyboard, allowing users to power the K750 inside the office and out—no batteries necessary. It can also last for about three months on a full charge in total darkness.

The most striking alterations have occurred more in the aesthetics department—changing the overall design to complement whatever sleek aluminum Apple product you are considering pairing with the K750 keyboard. The most "Apple" of all the designs is the silver frame with white chiclet keys. From there, most of the other selections have a white frame, white chiclet keys with the top of the keyboard in a blue, pink, or green color. The original black frame with black keys is also available.
It comes with Logitech's Unifying Receiver, a thumbnail USB device that allows you to wirelessly connect your keyboard over a 2.4-GHz frequency. The receiver also has a special feature that allows you to sync up to six Logitech peripherals to one USB dongle.
The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 for Mac is slated for release sometime this month and costs $59.99. The keyboard is currently up on Logitech's site for pre-order.
