Japan and mainland China get a lot of the credit for Asia's futurist creations, but years ago Taiwan weighed in with one of the most exciting solutions for living a science fiction fan could want, UFO houses.
Located in the Sanzhi district of New Taipei City, Taiwan, the UFO houses were built way back in 1978 as a haven for expats living in the region. The houses never really took off in terms of popular living spaces, but they did become a bit of a tourist attraction for some time. Sadly the buildings were demolished in 2010, but a huge database of images showing off the fantastical apartment complex still lives on Flickr here.
