Read 1st plot details for District 9 director's next sci-fi flick
It's been three years since Neill Blomkamp blew us away with his brutal, haunting spin on the alien invasion flick, District 9. Now we're finally hearing some details about his next journey into science fiction, Elysium. So what's the flick about?
A synopsis for the film, which stars Matt Damon and Jodie Foster, appeared yesterday on e-tickets for a preview screening of the film held by market researchers.

"In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard the government official, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn't stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can. When unlucky Max (Matt Damon) is backed into a corner, he agrees to take on a daunting mission that if successful will not only save his life, but could bring equality to these polarized worlds."
So, it looks like we've got another very socially aware take on sci-fi on the way from Blomkamp, though the setting (a good bit of it, anyway) will likely be quite different, and this time he's dealing with big American stars.
Apart from this little paragraph, all we really have on the film is a bit of viral marketing in the form of awebsite and video for Armadyne, the fictional company that apparently built Elysium. Check out the video advertising Armadyne's numerous futuristic services below.
Though anyone lucky enough to make that market research screening has now seen some version of it, Elysium won't be unleashed on the public until March of next year. Now that we know what it's about, are you more or less excited to get a look?
