2015 Subaru WRX STI Race Car

The Subaru WRX STI will make its first public appearance next week at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show , so we still have to wait a few more days before we finally get to see it in person. Though we still haven’t seen the STI in person, Subaru has already released details on the racing version that Subaru will use in the Nürburgring 24-Hour Race set to take place from 19th to 22nd of June.
With the new WRX STI race car, Subaru will participation in the 24-hour race for the seventh consecutive time and hopes to obtain its third victory in the SP3T class. This year the race car is based on the new-generation WRX STI and features a more aggressive body kit, with a larger rear wing for improved downforce.
Just like in the previous years, Hideharu Tatsumi will be the team manager, while Toshihiro Yoshida and Kouta Sasaki will be listed as drivers along with two European drivers.

The production version WRX STI will be displayed next week at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, just a few months after the WRX was unveiled in L.A.
The first details of the car suggest it can be powered by a turbocharged, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers about 300 horsepower — a 32-horsepower increase over the base WRX.
Also, the first images reveal that the car will be offered in the usual World Rally Blue exterior hue with golden alloy wheels. PHOTOS
