Quirky hotel rooms come with awesome model train sets
What do you look for in a good hotel? Free Wi-Fi in the rooms? A good workout center? A pool? In Japan, it turns out some people look for something rather odd: a fully working train set.
This is Washington Hotel in the legendarily nerdy district of Akihabara, where guests share a room with a model train set over 60 square feet large. The set itself is modeled after the surroundings of the hotel, and there's an option for guests to bring their own trains if they don't want to use the one's provided.
It may sound weird, but for a serious fan of trains, being able to see the train of your choice cruise around on such a large and familiar set sounds like some geeky fun.
The rooms are damn expensive, too, ranging around $265 a night. Want to see it for yourself? Check it out in the video below.
