Apple Rumored to Begin Production of CDMA iPhone in December

Verizon Wireless iPhone

We have previously heard in several occasions that Cupertino, California-based Apple is currently working on a CDMA version of its popular iPhone. We’ve also learned that manufacturing of said device could begin as soon as in December of this year.
In a research note sent to investors today, Susquehanna International Group Senior Equity Research Analyst Jeffrey Fidacaro indicates — based on information by oversea suppliers — that Apple will indeed begin production of the rumored CDMA iPhone in December of 2010. Fidacaro states that Apple is prepared to manufacture as many as 3 million CDMA-compatible iPhone units this year.

Now, we must take this information with a grain of salt. Apple has yet to acknowledge that a CDMA version of the iPhone is being developed. Furthermore, it’s currently unknown whether the device will be offered by Verizon Wireless here in the United States or other CDMA carrier such as Sprint.
Apple is rumored to launch the CDMA-compatible iPhone in early 2011. No specific date has been revealed.
