People have been saying that OLED TVs are the wave of the future, offering up brilliant color and brightness in very thin panels that are very energy efficient. What's not to like? Well, the price, for one, with Sony's first OLED TV, the XEL-1, measured a mere 11 inches and cost over $2,000.
Now, the tech is improving to the point where they can make bigger screens. And while LG's 30-inch 3D OLED TV might not be cheap, exactly, it's at least cheaper than such a thing used to cost. And hey, it's the world's thinnest! That's gotta count for something!
Really, we're still all just waiting for these things to come down to LCD TV pricing. But it's moving in the right direction, at least.
