We're closing in on the unveil for Samsung's Galaxy S III. Despite all the inconsistent rumors, a new video has surfaced from a reliable source that shows off what's believed is Samsung's next flagship Android smartphone.
A leaked video from Vietnamese gadget website Tinhte (of iPhone leak fame) has revealed a few new things about the Galaxy S III.
Specs first: the S III will have a 4.6-inch display with 1280x720 resolution, a quad-core 1.4GHz Exynos processor, 8-megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.0 (likely skinned with TouchWiz 4.0), NFC and a huge 2,050mAh battery. The specs run in stark contradiction to the earlier rumors about the display having a 4.8-inch display with 1080p resolution.
The video embed is still live in the mirrored link below, but it appears Samsung's Gestapo is already on the job. The company sent Engadget's Editor-in-Chief Tim Stevens a takedown notice to remove the video link, at least suggesting that the smartphone in the video might be authentic.
The final design might or might not look like what's shown here in this video — rumors persist about it having a "ceramic-like" rear back.
The S III is expected to be officially unwrapped at a press event the Korean electronics giant is holding in London on May 3. We're just weeks away!
Samsung's own cloud service called "S-Cloud" is also tipped to launch on May 5 with 5GB of free storage (just like iCloud), just in time for the S III.
