An 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Note no longer exists solely in the realm of unicorns and Apple TVs. A Korean news site is reporting that Samsung mobile honcho JK Shin has confirmed plans to release a midsize version of the tablet.
Samsung's game plan of late seems to be to cover all bases, with a wide array of smartphones and tablets that come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and price points. An 8-inch Galaxy Note to continue the trend could debut at February's Mobile World Congress.
With so many choices for touch-screen devices available now, I have to wonder how long it will be until Samsung puts its malleable display technology to good use and allows us to mold our own form factors, silly putty style.Shin failed to mention any other specifics of the new Note besides the screen size, butearlier rumors claim the middle child of Samsung's scribblable device family will feature an 8-inch 1,280x800 Super Clear LCD display, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB to 32GB of internal storage with a slot for more memory. It also packs a 4,600 mAh battery.
