Guy discovers hidden copy of Action #1 while remodeling his house!

Look! Up in the attic! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's ... a regular valuable comic book!
There aren't many copies of Superman's first appearence lying around. So you wouldn't to expect to find one just lying around.

And yet that is precisely what happened to Minnesota resident David Gonzalez while he was remodeling an abandoned house that he'd only recently purchased in Elbow Lake. There, quite literally hidden inside the walls, was Action Comics #1. It was, evidently, being used (along with some newspapers) as insulation!
Gonzalez, not quite knowing the value of what had fallen into his possession, placed the comic online for auction. By day two, the bid had exceeded $100,000 and was still growing.
But it's not all good news, sadly. Allegedly, Gonzalez got into a bit of a row with his in-laws, during which time they got a bit handsy with the book. Says Gonzalez, "They got all excited and tried to take it."
The result? The comic, tragically, was torn! "That was a $75,000 tear," according to online auction house ComicConnect co-owner Stephen Fishler. Ouch!
Still, a ripped Action Comics #1 is better than none at all. But we'd hate to be those in-laws right now!
