Would you find it difficult to film a sex scene with a beautiful young woman? ApparentlyGame of Thrones star Jason Momoa did.
Well, all right, we're not being exactly fair. Momoa's character, Khal Drogo, is a leader of the Dothraki tribe, a brutal race of warriors. Let's just say that the Dothraki's lovemaking style, at least initially, is not exactly tender.
Drogo marries the silver-haired, teenage Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) of the House Targaryen in a political move orchestrated by the bride's brother, who wants to use the Dothraki as an army to reclaim the throne of Westeros. On their wedding night, portrayed in the premiere episode of Game of Thrones, Drogo takes what is now his in a particularly rough manner.
Momoa himself, who will play Conan the Barbarian in this summer's big-screen reboot of the fantasy hero, is a fearsome-looking guy, but he told MTV News that doing the sex scenes with Clarke was not exactly a fantasy scenario. He explained, "It's hard. It's one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, because I love Emilia, she's someone that I love and adore to this day. You have to kind of separate [yourself from] it."
Clarke herself admitted that the scenes were "scary," but Momoa said that the two actors got through them by being especially kind to each other: "Lots of kisses and 'I'm sorry' afterwards. It's horrible, but Khal Drogo, that's what he does. Then you watch and you see him like this, your interpretation of what the character is, but by the end you absolutely fall in love with him and you find out a soft side."

Yes, apparently Drogo does have a sensitive side to his personality that eventually makes Daenerys warm up to him, but we won't say any more to avoid spoiling the story for anyone who hasn't read the George R.R. Martin fantasy saga from which the series is adapted.
