Mercedes-Benz unveiled a concept version of its next-generation A-Class just days ago at the New York Auto Show, but a new report reveals it won’t be long until four version of the premium small car are roaming U.S. streets.

According to Car and Driver, four versions of the next-generation A-Class are destined for our shores. Although the new cars will wear a face similar to that of the A-Class concept, look for the overall design to be toned down for production.

Given the U.S. propensity for crossovers, an A-Class CUV will be the first iteration of the small car to hit our shores. Mercedes will follow the A-Class CUV with a five-door model, a four-door coupe with cues from the CLS and even asporty three-door. Previous reports suggested Mercedes had ruled out a three-door for the U.S. market, but the German automaker has apparently changed its mind.
The A-Class CUV will offer an all-wheel drive option, but look for the other models to rely on front-wheel drive for propulsion. Power will be sourced from a 201 horsepower 1.8L, but a turbocharged four-cylinder is a strong possibility. Range-topping models could use Mercedes’ 3.5L V6.
Price should start in the upper $20,000 range, but look for well equipped models to easily cross into C-Class pricing territory. There are still rumblings of an A-Class AMG model, so prices could climb to the $50,000 mark.
