Origin Initiates Shipments of Laptop with 4.50GHz Processor, GeForce GTX 485M
rigin, a maker of luxurious high-performance personal computers, on Wednesday started to sell what may easily be the world's highest-performing desktop replacement (DTR) notebook on the planet. The Origin Eon17-S notebook integrates quad-core Intel microprocessor that can operate at whopping 4.50GHz as well as Nvidia Corp.'s recently launched GeForce GTX 485M.
“The Eon17-S laptops are remarkably portable and with second generation Intel Core i-series 'Sandy Bridge' processors overclocked to 4.50GHz, they are the fastest Origin laptops ever built on an Intel mobile platform” said Kevin Wasielewski chief executive and co-founder of Origin.
The highest-performance configuration of Origin Eon17-S sports Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition mobile processor with up to 4.50GHz clock-speed in Turbo Boost mode, Nvidia GeForce GTX 485M 2GB graphics card, up to 32GB of DDR3 memory (thanks to four DIMM sockets) and up to two hard drives or solid-state drives. The system sports 17.3" display with 1920*1080 resolution, Blu-ray disc drive, HDMI output; optical digital output, up to 7.1 HD audio with THX TruStudio support, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth support, integrated TV tuner, USB 3.0, eSATA and so on. The system's weight is whopping 8.6 lbs (3.9 kilograms) with the battery.
The entry-level version of the Origin Eos 17-S system - without Extreme Edition microprocessor, most powerful graphics card and without custom paint - costs $1759. The maximum configuration will be sold for several thousands of dollars.
