Zack Snyder\'s Superman finds a female villain—but which one?

It's official: The female villain in director Zack Snyder's Superman reboot, Man of Steel, will be Faora, and Snyder has also found an actress to play the role.
According to Variety, German actress Antje Traue, last seen by alongside Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster in Pandorum, will join a cast that already includes Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman's adopted Earth parents, the Kents.

The only thing still not clear is which Faora Traue will be playing. One version of the character, a beautiful Kryptonian who hated all males, was introduced in Action Comics#471, while another Faora showed up in issue #779 of the same comic book. That Faora was an accomplice of Zod and is the one that the film version will most likely be adapted from.
Another Faora appeared in season eight of Smallville as Zod's wife, and the character of Ursa (Sarah Douglas) from the first two Superman movies, 1978's Superman and 1981's Superman II, was also said to be loosely based on Faora as well.
Whichever Faora she ends up being, Antje Traue has the role and will no doubt help Zod give Superman plenty of grief when filming for the December 2012 release begins this summer in Chicago.
