Apple has filed for patents on a full range of virtual currency technology to put the company in the new virtual payment market alongside Google, PayPal and the other virtual payment concerns. Apple is late to the virtual wallet game, a market that is led by long-time payments innovator PayPal, but one that relative newcomers MasterCard, Visa, and Google desperately want to own.
