Ferrari has already built a truly awesome F1 simulator for their own use, but now they have taken a big slice of that experience, and turned it into a home game version you can play on your PC.
As you might expect, Ferrari Virtual Academy 2010 is very Ferrari-centric, and looks kind of like a Ferrari F1 test day where you compete against Ferrari drivers Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa in identical Ferrari F10 cars. The tracks look cool however, and include the Nürburgring in addition to Ferrari's familiar Fiorano and Mugello test facilities.
The promo looks good, but whether the realism of the racing action can match up Codemaster's awesome F1 2010 is yet to be seen. Having direct input from Alonso, Massa, and several other key players in Ferrari's F1 operation can't hurt.
Ferrari Virtual Academy 2010 will be available for download starting next Thursday for €15 (about $19). I'm sure the Tifosi will be lining up to get their copies.
