The X-Prize-winning team known as Edison2 has continued to push the envelope in the realm of electric vehicles, this time unveiling its mileage-crushing new electric Very Light Car (eVLC).
Oddly designed to look something like a floating bobsled, the eVLC weighs just weighs 1,140 pounds and only requires 5.3 horsepower to attain speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. The four-passenger electric vehicle can travel up to 350 miles on the same amount of power equivalent to 1 gallon of gas. The group says the super efficient vehicle is years away from commercial readiness, but in the meantime you can see it in action in the video below.
